Swyx: The Communication Engine

VoIP telephone systems have many advantages and benefits compared with traditional ISDN system especially for small and medium size business users. VoIP can significantly improve your inter-company communications, allowing you to do things that are simply not possible with traditional phone technology. VoIP is a remarkably flexible and affordable technology that offers smaller businesses the same sophisticated communication tools usually only available to enterprise-size competitors.

Companies can take advantage of an installed IP-PBX to not only communicate over IP within the organisation, but also to communicate with outside world using a Technology Box SIP trunk to connect to the traditional PSTN network. SIP trunks can offer significant cost savings eliminating the need for local PSTN gateways, costly ISDN BRIs (Basic Rate Interfaces) or PRIs (Primary Rate Interfaces). SIP trunking is cheaper than traditional ISDN or analogue lines.

SIP trunking has several other benefits:

  • Line rental is as much as 60% less and calls are cheaper.

  • Better disaster recovery because calls are routed through the Internet and can be delivered to a different site at a moment’s notice.

  • Flexible numbering with as many telephone numbers as you wish, from any dialling code including international destinations.

  • Scalability with additional numbers and channels that can be added at a moment’s notice.
