Enrol Personal Android Phone


Enrolling your personal android phone on Advocacy’s Microsoft Intune portal

To access The Advocacy’s company data on a personal device, you must enrol it in their Microsoft Intune portal using the Company Portal app. This process will create a work profile on your device, which separates company data from your personal data.

  1. Install the “Company Portal“ app from the Google Play Store; it can be found here: Company Portal App

  2. Once downloaded, open the app and click SIGN IN. You will be prompted to enter your Advocacy email address and password, plus multifactor authenticate the login.

  3. Tap Begin to start the process and review what your organization can and can't see. Then tap CONTINUE.

  4. Review Google's terms for creating a work profile. Then tap ACCEPT & CONTINUE. The appearance of this screen will vary based on your device's Android version.

  5. Wait while your work profile is set up. Tap Next when the option appears.

  6. The next step is to activate your work profile. (On devices running specific Android versions, you'll see another informational screen about the type of apps you need.) Clicking Continue will finish setting up your work profile.

  7. You will be prompted to select a device category. Select Mobile Phone.

  8. The final step your organization might require you to take is to update your device settings. Tap Continue and then Confirm Device Settings. This checks that your device meets The Advocacy People's minimum security requirements. If your phone meets the requirements, you will be presented with “You’re All Set!” and can tap the back button at the top left. If your device does not meet the standards, you can resolve any settings that need updating.

  9. When setup is complete, tap DONE. You can now exit the company portal app

  10. Your phone will have two profiles. One is your personal profile for your apps and files, and the second contains all company-relevant apps. You can access your Advocacy data from your work profile.

You can switch profiles from the main apps page. Tap on Personal or Work at the bottom to switch between the two.

Work Profile Apps

Shortly, The Advocacy People may roll out Work Profile Apps- these will be Apps specifically for work, managed centrally and will automatically install.

Work Profile Apps are identified by a blue briefcase on the bottom corner of the App icon.
